Animals – such an unusual sight can be seen only in Australia. A herd of kangaroos invaded a golf course in suburban Melbourne on Wednesday, March 6, under the amused gaze of players, forcing them to interrupt play. However, one of the golfers warned the animals that they had better not step on his ball. You can listen in our video above the article.
Guests of Heritage Golf and Country Club are sure to encounter kangaroos. In 2023, the golf club decided to shoot marsupials that had invaded the green before opting for fences in the face of public outrage. But the sight of an entire crowd crossing the golf course at full speed is rare.
In 2021, golfer Wendy Wu shared images of a similar scene at a golf club south of Brisbane.
At their cruising speed, kangaroos move at 40 kilometers per hour, but can run at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. Slower than a golf ball, but much faster than a golfer on two feet.
