An elderly man in a “crisis and disorientation” tried to open the door of an Air Canada plane mid-flight between London and Toronto on Sunday, police said.
In an email, Tyler Bell Morena of Peel Regional Police said that passenger attempted to open the door, which is not possible at flight altitude. It was controlled by Air Canada employees.
He added that the police received the man after the plane landed at Pearson International Airport in Toronto shortly after three o'clock in the evening.
The passenger was an elderly man in a state of crisis and confusion, and it did not appear that his actions were intentional.
He will not face any criminal charges. The man and his family were connected to additional resources.
