The case of Matvey Myshkov has taken a different turn in recent days. It all started with a rumor that his KHL club, SKA St. Petersburg, was willing to let him net for North America. The rumors have since come to fruition and he has been officially released from his team.

This is excellent news for the pilots, who can get reinforcements very quickly, much faster than they expected.
Surprisingly, a year ago many people were wondering whether to come to North America for three years or more.
Langlois asked the Flyers general manager where he saw Mechkov in his organizational chart. He replied that he was a player with great talent and that he had seen him play directly with the big club.
Briere continued his talk about good training with John Tortorella. He says Mechkov is a great talent, but he has a lot to work on defensively. He believes that the coach is the best person to teach him.
I can't wait to see the relationship between Tortorella and Mitchkov. They both have very strong personalities and there may be some flashes. Over the next few years, we will be able to find out if the rumors about his situation are true.
In the meantime, it's always good to see talent added to the NHL and Mechkov will have the opportunity to express his talent in September, barring disaster.
