Max Domi has never hidden his desire to continue his association with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but there appears to be water in the gas.
The former Montreal Canadiens forward will wear the Queen City colors in the 2023-2024 season, after signing a one-year contract worth $3 million with this organization. He could become an unrestricted free agent at firstany Next July.
According to the daily Toronto SunDomi's agent requirements would be too high for the Leafs' tastes. Columnist Steve Simmons even suggests that the hockey player should fire his representative if he wants to wear a maple leaf again.
In 80 games this season, Domi scored nine times and provided 38 assists for 47 points. He also collected four points in seven playoff games.
Currently, six skaters and two goaltenders on the Maple Leafs roster in 2023-2024 can become free agents as 1any July. In addition to Domi, forward Tyler Bertuzzi, as well as defensemen TJ Brodie, Joel Edmundson, Mark Giordano, and Ilya Lyubochkin are in the mix.
