Calgary – Dennis Williams, who helped Canada win gold at the Junior World Hockey Championships in 2022, will lead the team into the 2023 championship.
The Canadian Hockey Authority announced, Wednesday, the technical staff of the tournament in Halifax and Moncton, New Brunswick. Williams’ assistants behind the bench will be Kipker Stephan Julian, Sherbrooke Phoenix coach, Brent Kessio and Alain Letang.
Williams also retained the services of a trustee advisor, Kelly Gard, and video editor James Emery.
Gatineau Olympic coach Louis Ropitel is no longer as an assistant.

Williams, head coach and general manager of the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), was on coach Dave Cameron’s crew when Canada won the gold medal last summer in Edmonton with a 3-2 win over Finland. In the end.

Junior Team Canada will host their training camp from December 9-12 in Moncton before announcing their roster for the tournament.
The competition will start on December 26 and end on January 5.
