D.He places Vice President Kamala Harris in control of US President Joe Biden’s immigration from Central America. Biden announced at the White House on Wednesday that he would lead diplomatic efforts with countries in the region and find ways to prevent people from going to the United States.
Over the past few weeks, pressure on the Biden administration has increased as the number of immigrants on the southern border of the United States increases. The most pressing issue at the moment is the shelter of many unsupported small immigrants.
“I gave you a hard job”
“I think I gave you a hard job,” Biden told Harris. However, no one is in a better position to work with Mexico and the northern triangular nations of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador on this issue, Biden said, citing Harris’ experience as attorney general in the largest US state, California.
For Harris, the new accountability is an opportunity to stand as vice president amid a heated issue. Biden held a similar position as vice president under Barack Obama. Harris said the situation on the southern border was unquestionably a “challenging situation.” People leave countries for different reasons, and it is one thing to address the reasons that motivate people to leave.
