In an interview she conducted with Melanie Maynard, Tuesday evening, on the program Salty sweetThe comedian, who took a break from touring for the summer, admitted that she doesn't feel obligated, as a public figure, to carry the flag or be an unwilling queer spokesperson.

“I'm on tour with a show that's about my life and my reality. I think I become a spokesperson in my own way, but for me it's never forced. It's honest,” she said.

“I know we want to be role models for young people, and older people reassure themselves by saying that we are role models for young people, but I find that for you others we are role models because the messages I receive are from older people,” she said to Melanie Maynard: “When my daughter told me she was gay, I was very sad because I said… “For myself, she won’t have a family, so you have a family, so that might reconcile me.”

Catherine Levac will resume touring for her second solo exhibition The man of my lifeat the end of summer.

You will be hosting the show Queer and friends Celebrating comedy! It welcomes Montreal to the capital on July 19 and to Quebec on August 14.
