The topic of suspensions is quite present in the NHL these days. After all, you've probably heard about what happened Saturday night in Toronto when Ridley Greig scored into an empty net on a slap shot.
Morgan Reilly liked his opponent's gesture so much that he stamped it Sherwood In the front. Maybe he was trying to channel his joy…
The Sens player clearly did not know that he would start such a story. And in Toronto, that will still be the talk of the town since Riley's five-game suspension has just begun.

But in recent weeks, the Leafs weren't the only ones who were targets of a five-game suspension: CH, too. We'll remember that Brendan Gallagher was suspended after Patrick Roy's rematch at Bell Center.
But now, after yesterday's game, Brendan Gallagher has five penalties behind him. He is now free as air and can play tomorrow at MSG in New York.
the problem? The Canadian played so well yesterday that I'm not sure Martin St. Louis wants to break the formula.
If Gallagher were a younger player, I have a feeling he might miss his role on Thursday. But since he's a veteran, I expect to see him play against the Rangers tomorrow night. I don't expect him to be the story of the game because the first line is the talk of the town, but he should play.
There is general concern among Canadiens fans about their lack of elite offensive talent. Nick Suzuki is aware of this concern, and over the past month, he and consistent teammates Cole Caufield and Juraj Slavkovski have worked to alleviate it: https://t.co/BDkhlotP7o

What I hope is that Brandon Gignac or Joshua Roy don't get hurt when they enter the stands. It would be easy to make the decision since they are among the last to arrive… but they are clearly worth playing.
Actually, since Gignac plays as a midfielder, this would be a truly unique decision… but oh well. We understand.
The “obvious” candidate to leave aside is Michael Peseta. He is not having a great season and is often the one who gives up his place when a healthy striker is not playing.
But if I had one name to suggest, it's Jesse Lohnen. Did you know that yesterday he was the only Canadian skater not to have a shot on goal? Did you know that in his last 32 matches, the striker was unable to score the opponent's net?

I know we're supposed to be offering love this Valentine's Day, but we're all noticing that Ilonen is flying first class on CH right now.
We have to do something now that the club has money.
Note, on a technical level, that Gallagher was still a member of the 23-man roster during his suspension. The CH can sail with only 22 men, simple as that.
Therefore, no one should go to Laval or be on the injured list to make room for him on the sidelines of his return.
CH currently has 13 healthy forwards in its lineup and seven defenders on hand. But the seventh is Jordan Harris, who is out of the ordinary, but is not on the injured list.
Until proven otherwise, the six defenders who played yesterday will undoubtedly face Rangers tomorrow. I also expect to see Samuel Montembault in net.

– Little gourmand, this is Cole Coffield. He joked that he was happy to see Brandon Gignac score a goal for the Chicken Wings.
When asked how happy all the Canadiens players were to see Brandon Gignac score his first NHL goal, making it 5-0, Cole Caufield said: “No, we were happy with the Wings.”
He was joking.

– Juraj Slavkovski Sr. bombed the CH logo yesterday in the locker room.
The Canadiens cover their logo with a rug when the media is there. Once the room is vacated, the carpet is removed. Just like last night, Juraj Slavkovski brought his father into the room. You'll never guess the first place he climbed into. Junior freaked out. https://t.co/JJZJemkm4m

– Already two years.
Two years ago, Kent Hughes made his first major deal as CEO #CH By trading Tyler Toffoli to the Flames for a first-round pick and Emil Heineman (and a few other minor pieces).
