The new store is located at 405 rue Saint-Joseph Est, in the heart of the Saint-Roch district in downtown Quebec City.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be introduced as the store offers 13,000 square feet of space. According to the officials, it is set to revitalize the shopping experience by inviting consumers to try products in different places.
There are boot and climbing boots testing areas, a climbing wall for kids, as well as cycling, cross-country skiing, and hiking workshops.
It’s all about a foyer space meant to foster exchanges and allow the community to come together around a common passion: outdoor activities.
“The opening of this new store represents our company’s ambition to be the leading outdoor experience company in Quebec,” explains Cedric Morissette, President of La Cordée.
“Our new space is both innovative and warm and will be an emblematic place for the adventurous community of Quebec.”
Imagined by GH + A Design Studios, the design of this new store is inspired by the warm atmosphere of an urban chalet and emphasizes natural materials such as wood and fabric. The company’s history and passion for the tranquil and timeless landscapes of Quebec are illustrated by photographic shots of Laurentians, Alexandra Côté-Durrer.
new platform
La Cordée has also invested in a new design for its website and a new e-commerce platform. Since Mach Capital’s acquisition of La Cordée in September 2020, the company has completed the initial phase of its transformation strategy and transformation plan by making significant investments in the company’s operations, notably with the establishment of a distribution center and the opening of a new store in downtown Montreal, scheduled for launch in fall 2022.
