The Ukrainian army claimed on Tuesday evening that it had targeted a Russian “formation” in the occupied city of Makievka in eastern Ukraine, where Russian media reported that one person was killed and 36 civilians were wounded in a Kiev-led attack.

“As a result of the firepower of units of the (Ukrainian) Defense Forces, there is no more formation of Russian terrorists in the temporarily occupied Makievka region,” the Office of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Telegram.
In a video attached to this message, an explosion can be seen in the distance, as well as the silhouette of at least one building.
Kiev did not provide details of this procedure.
Denis Pushilin, the head of the Russian occupation of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, said on Telegram that Ukrainian forces carried out “violent attacks” on residential areas and a medical complex in Makeyevka.
According to Russia’s Interfax agency, “a man born in 1961 died and 36 civilians were injured of varying degrees of severity,” based on a statement from officials installed by Moscow in Donetsk.
The Russian state agency, Tass, said that “nine health institutions (…) were damaged” in Makievka.
On New Year’s Eve, according to Moscow, 89 Russian soldiers were killed in a Ukrainian raid in Makevka.
