The fifth edition of the Fête de la science at Lunelois High School was a great success and useful for the students. It also allowed them to open up fields of possibilities in this professional field.
With post-baccalaureate Parcoursup registrations about to open, high schools are playing the professional spotting card. Such was the case for Victor-Hugo High School students who were able to attend the fifth edition of the Fête de la science shortly before the patisserie truce.
Two teachers were in charge of the event, Magali Vincent, SVT teacher, and Remy Wagner, library teacher. For a week, the daily life of the future graduate was permeated with many activities. The goal was also to direct as much as possible.
Thus, the Association of Ex-Students of the Lycée Victor-Hugo (AAEVH), which helps guide seniors, took part in this science festival. Indeed, Léa Braud, the president of the AAEVH, had orchestrated the arrival of the former students. Each of them has led workshops and conferences. Their degrees allowed high school students to get an idea of post-baccalaureate studies.
Training and raising awareness
The event also provided a field for discovery. Thus Femme & Science stepped in to share its will and experience in promoting and valuing scientific and technical careers with young girls.
Among the fascinating events, Victor Hugo high school students were able to attend a conference given by Anne Charmantière, research director at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Evolutionary Ecology, on her international project in Antarctica called the “Homeward bound”.
In order to master the encounters, the NGO Sea Shepherd (NGO) has been on a mission to raise awareness among young people about ocean conservation, now realizing that it is possible to undertake a career that tackles climate challenges.
