Hairstylist since 2010, Marcus Villeneuve now enjoys tremendous success thanks to his impressive presence on social networks.
In his case, it was his job as a hairdresser that made him famous on the web. And now he happens to have done some paid partnerships on Instagram, though it’s not his main job, he says.
The one who regularly does Véronique Cloutier, Marilou, Julie St-Pierre, Annie Villeneuve, Marjo, and most recently, Mayor Bruno Marchand acknowledges that his famous Instagram page [Marcuuus]followed by more than 42,000 subscribers, which boosted traffic to the hair salon in Quebec City by 80%.
Even if for him creating content is just “a little bit more,” the 34-year-old hairstylist admits that it allows him to forge paid partnerships and exchange services, which benefits his company.
“I don’t need this [création de contenu] for living. I will look for the pros and cons, I don’t need it because it’s not the rhythm of my life,” he says, while not imposing any goal in terms of the number of posts per week.
Chez Marcus – L’espace salon has been open since 2015 and has grown from two people to fourteen employees in two years.
