The Tampa Bay Lightning sent forwards Pat Maron and Max Kajkovic to the Minnesota Wild for a seventh-round pick in the 2024 draft Sunday night.
Maroon, 35, has spent the past four seasons with the Lightning, winning a Stanley Cup along the way.
The American also won the famous trophy with the St. Louis Blues in 2019.
Tough, Maron has 930 penalty minutes on the clock in 729 NHL games. Able to contribute modestly offensively, he scored 117 goals and had 171 assists in the Pittman circuit.
And he will significantly make up for the departure of the powerful Ryan Reeves, who signed with the Maple Leafs on Saturday. As for Cajkovic, he was the Lightning’s third round pick in the 2019 draft. A former QMJHL player, Cajkovic has spent most of his pro career in the ECHL.
