Thursday’s big night of NHL action. Here are the results and highlights:

1. Max Pacioretty needs help leaving the rink
Max Pacioretty has just returned to the game and has already fallen in battle.
At the end of the game, while the former CH captain was trying to pass, he fell on the ice and didn’t get up on his own. Need help getting off the rink. Is it an Achilles tendon injury?
Oh no.
Inside the final minute, Max Pacioretty goes down and has to be helped off the ice. A terrible, terrible sight. pic.twitter.com/B6leVJRGqX

Team coach Rod Brind Amore hopes the injury isn’t too serious, but he’s not very optimistic at the moment.
“It doesn’t look good. I mean, we don’t know, but it doesn’t look good.” – Rod Brind Amor’s opening comments, after the match, regarding Max Pacioretty’s last-minute injury.
“I hope it’s not as bad as we think it is, but I’m not very optimistic at the moment.”

Fortunately, the Hurricanes won the game against the Wild, but Max Pacioretty’s health is a priority.
They hope it wasn’t the injury itself that caused him to miss a few months of activities, but we can be suspicious of that.
2. Patrick Maron had some words for Evander Kane
Last November, Evander Kane was seriously injured. By chance, Patrick Maroun opened his forearm with a ski sled.
Kane has only been back in action for a few days and yesterday he experienced the same maroon and lightning.
Maron also had good words to say to Ken at the beginning of the meeting.
Pat Maron and Evander Kane hugged tonight during the warm-ups.
In November, Maron accidentally skated on Kane’s arm, slashing his wrist and causing Kane to miss two months. pic.twitter.com/7Gu35S6Jqp

So it’s a very nice gesture from the Tampa Bay forward, who may have apologized last November, but why not do it in person, too?
The Oilers eventually won, 5-3.
3. Sabers honor Ryan Miller
American goaltender Ryan Miller was one of the best goaltenders in Sabers history. And yesterday he was rewarded for his 11 seasons in Buffalo.
His number 30 has been retired and he is in the heights of KeyBank Center.

Buffalo won in overtime and didn’t let the Islanders spoil the party. It was Dylan Cousins who brilliantly threw in the overtime discussion.

4. Goal No. 100 of Kirill Kaprizov
If there’s ever been a striker who has turned a lot of heads since joining the NHL, it’s Kirill Kaprizov. The Russian is not only the best player in the Wild, but one of the best players in the NHL.
Yesterday he scored once to reach 100 career goals.

Note that the striker has only 180 matches under his belt.
Wild unfortunately lost to Carolina by a score of 5-2.
5. AUSTON Matthews makes fun of Mark Shevell
In the past few games, Auston Matthews has been on fire. Defending champion Maurice Richard scored two goals in Toronto’s victory over the Jets.
The first goal of the match was scored after eight seconds of play.
Auston Matthews scored eight seconds into the second frame, the fastest goal to start a period with a lead @employee player since Mitchell Marner on January 1. 3, 2019 (0:07 sec).
Oh and now he has two in a row, for those who count. #NHLStats: https://t.co/FZvjaLyh5O pic.twitter.com/fT6gZMo23g

In 2019, Mitchell Marner scored after seven seconds. Speaking of Marner, he’s also on fire. The small forward has earned a point in his 20th straight home game.

Returning to Matthews, he has scored in his last four matches and has seven goals in his last eight matches. And he totally mocked Mark Shevell when he scored his first goal last night.

Nice set for him.
