The implementation work of the “Ciligelo” project in the Kasai region faced the problem of supplying the sites due to its isolation. This was revealed by the Director General of the Office of Roads and Sanitation, Victor Tomba Chikila, during a press conference held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
In its strategy, the Bureau of Foreign Volunteers began operating in the cities of Mbuji Mayi and Kananga in order to facilitate the mobilization of materials in the new disjointed provinces, namely Lomami (Cabinda), Sankuru and Tchikapa.
According to the director general of the office, “the project is currently making progress in the construction of sewage works, while road construction may take place in the coming months, and the duration of work is 36 months.”
He added, “In Mbuji Mayi, the sewage network has reached 9 km and 7 km in Kananga. After the supply problem is resolved, the sites will reach cruising speed within four to five months. “
It must be remembered that Chiligelo is a great project initiated by the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It consists of the rehabilitation and modernization of road infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
This work was launched on March 17, 2021, as a contracting body, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works (ITP), through the OVD that ensures the monitoring mission.
CREC-7 has been selected to carry out the work financed under the PPP model for a period of 36 months.
