After several rows, the Anaheim Ducks made Maxime Massi, of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, their first pick in the third round (65H In total). The right winger collected 75 points, including 36 goals, in 67 games last season.
Shortly after in the third round, Alexis Bernier, from Baie-Comeau Drakkar, headed to Seattle. The new Kraken defenseman is coming off a 31-point campaign in 67 games in 2023-24, which also took the Drakkar to the QMJHL playoff final.
