Pierre-Luc Dubois tabled the Winnipeg Jets for a 5-1 win in Game 1 of their series against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday.
The striker was a partner in the first goal of the series, which was scored by Kyle Connor with a good shot on reception during the second minute of the middle period. Just a minute later, Dubois himself found the back-netting with an accurate shot.
William Carlson cut the Jets’ lead by one goal before the end of the period, but Blake Wheeler restored his team’s lead with two goals in the third period and Adam Lowry completed the scoring with two goals late in the game.
An alarming scene occurred in the first period. After getting a good opportunity to score, Morgan Baron collided with goaltender Laurent Brossuyt’s half circle and his skate fell over his right eye.
Barron immediately headed to the locker room and after receiving 75 stitches, returned to the game afterwards with a net for his helmet.
Connor Hellebuyck was light in front of his net against just 17 shots. Brossuyt allowed four goals on 30 shots in the game.
The Jets and Golden Knights will play the second game of their series on Thursday.
