Nearly 3,500 homes in Quebec are still plunged into darkness throughout the night from Sunday to Monday, due to a power outage from the Hydro-Quebec network due to strong winds that affected several sectors during the night.

The state company reported in its report shortly before 4 a.m. that about 3,498 households were without electricity, most of which were in Gaspey-Ile-de-la-Madeleine and Montérégie.
Thus, 1,441 Hydro-Québec customers were waiting for connectivity to be restored in Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine, while the outages recorded in Quebec and Estrie were resolved.
In addition to about 1,234 customers without power in Montérégie, more than 530 homes remain affected by power outages in Montreal, according to the government company’s report.
Dozens of families in Lanaudière, the Laurentians, on the North Shore and in the Center du Quebec were also waiting for power to be restored.
She added that Hydro-Quebec agents were still working Monday morning to resolve problems associated with outages that have not yet been restored in the province.
