A young woman from Australia found an unusual way to make money.
Monique Jeremiah, 36, decided to rent out the other half of her bed to strangers in order to survive the housing crisis.
This increasingly widespread practice is called “hot bedding.”
“A heated mattress is excellent for people who are able to detach themselves emotionally and sleep next to another person in a completely respectful, non-attached way,” Monique Jeremiah told CastersNews.
Monique says this can be a very profitable direction, provided both parties agree to the terms of the deal.
According to her, this is the same principle as sharing a room with two beds, but with only one bed. She explains that a large bed and a large bedroom are necessary so that everyone has their own personal space.
So, she’s asking for $160 a week, and $640 a month for the other half of her bed.
It is even considering increasing its prices, given the increase in demand, especially inflation which continues to rise in Australia.
“This is the ideal situation, especially if you’re sensible like me, and prefer someone’s company rather than a physical relationship,” Monique Jeremiah enthuses.
