A “space for dialogue” is a space for exchanges between citizens. On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in the wedding hall of Yopougon City Hall, this activity took place on the theme “Social Cohesion, for a Lasting Peace in Côte d’Ivoire”.
During this “space for dialogue”, its goal is to give a voice
Residents, youth, women, civil society organizations, customary chiefs, and the men and women of the media who made the journey, took the opportunity to propose their solutions for lasting peace and social cohesion in Côte d’Ivoire.
Among these exchanges, the resignation of parents in their commitment to inculcate good principles in their children, the lack of civic and moral education in our schools, and the divisions that politicians intentionally orchestrate, according to the speakers, are the main reasons that undermine social cohesion. Among the solutions proposed by the participants, emphasis was placed on the important role of youth and women in maintaining social peace, the involvement of religious leaders, especially Christians and Muslims, who drain many believers, and a return to traditional values. Like inter-ethnic alliances, this ancient pact of non-aggression, knowledge of the history of one and other peoples of your country, learning of mother tongues, courage to speak the truth to manipulative politics, popular practice
Team sports, etc.
The next stage of the “dialogue space” is Adjamé. See you all at the City Hall Wedding Hall on May 31 at 10am.
“Space for Dialogue” is one of the activities of the “Spirit of Youth, Spirit of Peace”, a project implemented in partnership with DW Academy, thanks to funding from the European Union.
