In Bethesda’s upcoming RPG, Starfield, players will be able to customize their characters as much as possible, including choosing their pronouns.
“I’m really excited about what the team has done with character creativity here,” said Todd Howard, Bethesda’s creative director. “This includes choosing a background, skills, etc. You can also choose your own pronoun (he, she, they) and we have recorded all relevant dialogues to support that choice.”
in a Reddit AMAHoward answered some questions about Starfield. He specifically responded to a Redditor who asked him if character creation in the game would be more complex than in Elder Scrolls games like Morrowind or Oblivian. Bethesda seems as open as she is with Starfield and allows people to express themselves however they want.
Elsewhere in the AMA, some Redditors said the information should be written down so it can be compared to what the final product will have when it launches. “Let’s see if we get on with the internet,” said one Redditor, referring to the backlash and drama surrounding the controversial launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
Howard also confirmed that Starfield will have full mod support, as in previous Bethesda RPGs.
Starfield is Bethesda’s next big game coming to PC and Xbox Series X | S on November 11, 2022. Next, Elder Scrolls 6 will be the next game, which Bethesda said they had to push in order to create Starfield. Fortunately, Bethesda is committed to making more single player games.
