By winning their third straight game, the Laval Rocket ensured that they preserved their chances of reaching the American Hockey League (AHL) playoffs.
On Wednesday night, at Place Belle, the Montreal Canadiens school club defeated the Toronto Marlies 6-3 bringing their points total to 74.
The Laval formation still holds the last place giving access to the spring dance in its division. It now has three more points than the Cleveland Monsters, who have two games on the Rocket.
Against Queen City FC, Rafael Harvey Benard fired the charge again. The man, who was playing his second game since returning to the AHL, has provided assists on five of his team’s six successes.
Anthony Richard was no slouch, scoring three hat-tricks and providing two assists. Mitchell Stephens scored twice and scored 20 goals this season. Jesse Ylonen completed the scoring for Team Laval.
The Rocket concludes its season Friday night against the Syracuse Crisis. This duel will also be presented on Quebec soil.
