The Montreal Canadiens could impress their supporters during the next draft, which will take place at his home at the Bell Center on July 7-8, and he is the one who will bring many of the big shots.
At least that’s what celebrity sportsnet journalist Elliot Friedman thinks, who shares some of these potential moves in his recent text “32 Ideas.”
General Manager Kent Hughes, who already has the first pick in the draft, will try to get another high pick in the first round, the one who also got the 26th round, earned from Calgary Flames in a trade involving Tyler Toffoli, as well as the 33rd pick in the Total, the first choice of the second round.
Furthermore, Friedman has identified Josh Anderson, Christian Dvorak and Jeff Petrie as players who could be sent elsewhere, while “some teams believe Jake Allen is not for sale”.
In addition, the CH Committee could have held discussions with senators in Ottawa about striker Colin White. In 2022-2023, the latter should start the fourth campaign of a six-year contract that will earn him $4.75 million annually. He had put his signature on the tail of this agreement at the end of the 2018-2019 season, when he had collected 41 points in 71 games. He wasn’t able to go past a 23-point total after that, having hit 10 hits in 24 games last season.
