At the end of last July, a pony named Patrick was symbolically elected mayor of the UK village of Cockington, but was recently banned from entering the local pub following a complaint, according to several British media outlets.
The animal, known to the citizens, has been working as a therapeutic animal since 2019. He specially visited hospitals and schools in the province to comfort patients and children in the area.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the pony’s owner decided to bring her to the local pub, Drum Inn, in an effort to offer customer support. At that time, Patrick became so popular that last month citizens decided to symbolically elect him mayor.
Dowry even participated in an inauguration ceremony on July 23, chaired by local MP Kevin Foster.
In order to allow citizens to meet with the mayor, an enclosure was created in the garden of the Drum Inn pub.
However, the newly elected mayor clearly did not please everyone, as a complaint was filed to prevent him from settling outside the pub.
In this complaint, it was claimed that the owner of the Drum Inn did not have permission to build his enclosure.
according to Newsweek, The council that handled the complaint is run by the local MP’s political opponents. He is one of the members of the municipal council who was going to file the complaint, and pay one of the citizens, in a daily interview times.
Representative Kevin Foster responded by saying the city council was deluding itself with such a decision.
