The former Montreal Alouettes passed away at the age of just 44.
The Alouettes issued a press release honoring the man who died of a rare form of cancer. The Alouettes are clearly saddened by the passing of Deidrick, who wore the colors of the Montreal club from 2006 to 2013, and then also in 2014 after a short stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

“I won two championships with Dehran and he was a very important part of our team,” said former quarterback Anthony Calvillo, now the Alouettes’ offensive coordinator, who played eight seasons with Diederick. He was always in a good mood and got along with everyone in our locker room. He leaves us so young, I send my best thoughts to his loved ones.
Prior to playing with the Alouettes, Deidrick lifted his first Gray Cup during his rookie season in 2005 with the Edmonton Eskimos.
