$1.85 million, that’s how much CD Projekt Red paid its investors for lying about the deplorable quality of the game when it launched in December 2020, regarding the PS4 and Xbox One versions. We remember that when the game was released, the Polish studio was taken to court by the law firm Rosen, which represented the investors, and demanded damages for false or misleading statements. CD Projekt Red has not disclosed that Cyberpunk 2077 is “virtually unplayable” on PS4 and Xbox consoles and that the release of these versions in no way reflects the true final quality of the product. The plaintiffs’ representative estimated the total potential damages at $11 million. Finally, Justice withheld a fine of $1.85 million, which is 16.8% of the estimated recoverable damages, or compensation of approximately $0.49 for each qualifying share of CD Projekt bond. This amount will also be used to pay class members, administrative fees, taxes, attorneys’ fees and expenses, and plaintiff incentive awards.
