The news caused a huge reaction. The Tang Yu robot wields great power over the employees of this Fujian-based company.
Tang Yu gives salary increases, and she is also the one who gives orders to the employees.
The bot was created from scratch by the company’s employees using artificial intelligence.
“When we held Tang Yu in 2017, she was like a newborn baby. We collected thousands of data to help her grow. Little by little, she developed an independent conscience,” says an engineer in a TF1 Info report.
In an interview with French television, other employees said that having a robot as a boss has advantages.
“It’s true that with a human female manager, I could interview face-to-face, but she wouldn’t be available everywhere, 24 hours a day,” one employee admits.
At all times, even at night, the robot answers the workers’ questions. Ms. Yu never takes a vacation.
NetDragon Websoft is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and has been very successful since the arrival of the new boss.
