It's reasonable to think there will be changes this summer in Toronto.
The club's first-round elimination to the Bruins doesn't help the cause of Brad Treliving, who will have important choices to make.
Should we trade Marner? Should we buy Tavares? Both of these options have been discussed recently… because the club can no longer push its offense into the top four, and because both William Nylander and Auston Matthews signed big contracts last year.
David Pagnotta said in article There is a world where Marner could be traded, but insiders believe the big changes will mostly happen behind the bench.
Sheldon Keefe's future is far from guaranteed with the Leafs even though he signed a two-year contract extension last summer in Toronto…and his likely replacement is a guy known to fans.
There's going to be a lot of talk about Craig Berube out there now:
If Leafs general manager Brad Treliving decides to change coaches, former St. Louis Blues coach Craig Berube would be one of the favorites for the job. -David Pagnotta
Would Toronto consider trading Marner? https://t.co/Aatc4zYOXL

Craig Berube is an experienced coach and has already lifted a Stanley Cup while in St. Louis with the Blues.
We're talking about a coach who is difficult to deal with with his players… and maybe that's what we need in Toronto.
I'm curious to see what's going on there, although Sheldon Keefe is still at his job as of this writing.
in His articleDavid Pagnotta also reveals that the Leafs had discussions with the Preds during the season about Juuse Saros.
Treliving could also have discussed with the Blues about Colton Parayko…
The GM has also reportedly spoken to the Sharks regarding Mario Ferraro.
For Sarros, it seems so suitable It really makes a lot of sense.
The Leafs need a number one goaltender in net, a guy the organization can trust to lead the club along the way.
The latest news is that Ilya Samsonov is unable to fill that role… Joseph Wall has an impressive injury history as well as not having a lot of NHL experience.
On the other side of the coin, in Nashville, the Breeds rely on the services of Yaroslav Askarov and can afford to trade Saros.
I'd say the same thing, but trading with Marner and Saros as central pieces… that could make sense for both clans, right?
The Preds will be looking for a natural talent, a guy who is averaging 90 points per season and who would be an interesting punchline with Filip Forsberg up front…
It will put foliage finally Get your hands on a trusted guardian.
Brief.
Basically, we can expect there to be a lot of changes in Toronto this summer.
And we won't have to fall off our chairs if Berube is hired… and if Marner is traded.
