There were seven games on the schedule last night in the National Hockey League, and a lot happened.
Here are the top 5 events that caught the eye last night in the hockey world.
1. Trevor Zegras scored his second goal in lacrosse this season, and this one against the Arizona Coyotes
We all know the Anaheim Ducks striker is very talented. He’s had a solid season with the Ducks, and he really looks like a future NHL star.
Moreover, he often gives great plays.
Last night, in the Ducks’ 5-0 victory over the Coyotes, the Zegras scored an impressive Michigan “goal” midway through the first half.

Scoring such a goal while rounding his teammate Sonny Milano with his cane is nothing short of impressive.
It is worth watching it again.

We all remember that he scored a goal like this against the Montreal Canadiens earlier this season.

2. Cypress crowned Rick Jannert’s Buffalo concert with a win
Last night, the Sabers raised a banner to the top of their plaza, the KeyBank Center, in honor of Rick Jennert, the Sabers games commentator for more than 50 years.
So it was a very emotional night for the fans, the players and Rick Jennert.
He’s an amazing guy with a legendary voice, who unfortunately hasn’t really had a chance to describe the Buffalo Sabers’ most illustrious years.

Everyone was paying attention to Eve Gascon’s second start at QMJHL last night. We were all hoping for her first win in QMJHL.
Well, that’s exactly what happened. In fact, the Gatineau Olympiques won 7 to 3 against the Drummondville Voltigurs.

Quebecer Mathieu Joseph, who won the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, traded before the Ottawa Senators on the trade deadline.
After four matches with his new team, Joseph still has not scored a goal.
Well, last night, in his fifth game, he scored his first three goals in a Sens uniform.

5. The Oilers almost dribbled to victory in a crazy game against the St. Louis Blues
As we know, Oilers are notorious for not having the best defense and the best goalkeepers. This is often the reason why a comfortable ride is not really comfortable.
Last night, that’s exactly what happened.
The Oilers quickly took a 4-1 lead over the St. Louis Blues in the first period. The Blues then returned to 4-3 before Darnell Nurse scored the Oilers’ fifth goal.
In the third half, the Blues scored two goals to force overtime.
In the end, it was none other than Conor McDavid who came to save the day for the Oilers.
Here is the evening summary.
