Donald Trump's campaign team has begun narrowing down the number of potential candidates for the presumptive Republican Party nominee in the 2024 presidential election, according to several US media outlets, including the website. Axios. Eight candidates have received a request in recent days to submit financial or other documents to ensure they don't have skeletons in the closet. There are no big surprises on this list, except perhaps Ben Carson, a former member of the Trump administration, who has not previously been mentioned among the potential nominees.
Who are the others? After arranging the photos published above, we find Senators Marco Rubio, J.D. Vance and Tim Scott, Governor Doug Burgum, Representatives Elise Stefanik and Byron Donalds, and Senator Tom Cotton. Notably absent: Governor Kristi Noem, a dog killer, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who is very popular among MAGA supporters.
Vance accompanied Trump to Arizona on Thursday for his first rally since a New York jury's guilty verdict. The Ohio senator co-hosted a fundraising event Friday night in San Francisco with venture capitalist David Sachs, which will add significantly to Trump's windfall since his conviction. Scott and Burgum are also expected to be in attendance, according to Washington Post.
