The patch that the giant Google has just put on the Internet for its Chrome browser is dangerous, as it affects the security of the entire computer system.
Indeed, Google confirmed that a security breach was detected on the networks, which means that the attacks were already underway.
This major update, which aims to close a security vulnerability in Chrome, affects one in two people on our small planet, or 3.2 billion users.
The good news is that there is no confirmation that attackers are actually exploiting the cybersecurity vulnerability at the heart of this update.
This update contains a file Build number 100.4896.75. Whether you’re on Windows, macOS, or Linux, go to the About Chrome menu in your browser to start downloading it. This comes on the heels of the historical update to version 100 which in turn fixed about 28 security vulnerabilities.
Losing control of your computer
A security hole that just closed could have allowed a hacker website to actually take control of your computer system.
If the attack is carried out, the victim will be redirected to a malicious site where the takeover will complete.
It is important to restart Chrome browser after updating to complete the process.
Given the prevailing context of international tensions, computer attacks are likely to strike everywhere in the West. It is therefore important that you quickly update your operating systems and all programs that connect to the Internet.
