The Colorado Avalanche could trade very well with defensive man Samuel Gerrard.
At least that’s what Denver Post reporter Mike Chambers reported. Gerrard would have been the bulk involved in the avalanche attempt to secure the services of Jack Eichel, who was eventually traded to the Vegas Golden Knights by the Buffalo Sabers.

However, according to Chambers, Gerrard still risks the eventual trade. The Denver team would like to relieve themselves of their contract averaging $5 million per year and would like to get a striker in return.
Avalanche staff will be disappointed with Gerrard’s final qualifying match. The 5’10, 170-pound linebacker had some trouble on his home ground against the Heavyweight Golden Knights.
The appearance of the young Boyen Byram is also another factor that would justify the decision to exchange Gerrard.
