Steeped in a sexual misconduct scandal, President and Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Vince McMahon, announced that he is stepping down on Friday.

The 76-year-old has made the whole thing official on his Twitter account.
“It’s time for me to retire,” he wrote. Thank you, “WWE Universe”. yesterday. Currently. any time. together.”
McMahon made headlines in early June after the Wall Street Journal reported that he had paid about $12 million to cover up allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity against her over the past 16 years.
In mid-June, his daughter Stephanie McMahon was promoted to interim president of WWE amid an internal investigation by the wrestling organization.
Stephanie McMahon formally inherited the position on Friday, who will also assume the duties of co-chairman and CEO. Her husband, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, will return to his position as Vice President of Wrestling Relations.
