NEW YORK – Longtime WWE manager Vince McMahon has paid more than $12 million over the past 16 years to silence allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity, according to Wall Street Magazine.
This amount is much greater than was known in the public domain.
Also according to the US media, four women who are all previously associated with WWE have signed contracts with the 76-year-old who forbids them to talk about their relationship with him.
McMahon resigned as president and CEO of WWE in mid-June pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
At the time of the announcement, The Wall Street Journal reported that McMahon paid $3 million to a former paralegal who said she had been sexually harassed at her workplace.
However, McMahon continues to oversee the creative side of WWE during the investigation.
WWE has appointed Vince’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, as interim president and CEO for the duration of the investigation.
The company said it would not comment until the investigation was completed.
