Are you tired of scrolling through endless chats to find a specific message in WhatsApp? Good news, a long-awaited feature that solves the problem is finally available to everyone!
If you've been using WhatsApp regularly for a while, you've probably accumulated hundreds, if not thousands, of messages in conversations with your loved ones. Especially when there are talkative people in groups… And if you want to find important information that was said to you a few days ago, you will quickly realize that in the meantime, a lot of things have been said… However, if it is possible to quickly find old exchanges thanks The search function is when you remember some keywords, and it is completely different when you do not remember any terms or when you use a very common word that often comes up in conversations. So there's no other solution than to manually swipe up through messages to go back in time and find what interests you. In short, it is long and not practical at all!
Fortunately, Meta recently solved the problem with a very cool feature: the calendar button. It has been running for several months and is eagerly awaited, as it allows you to search for messages from a specific date, whether in group or individual discussions. Practical, provided you have a good memory! This function was announced by Mark Zuckerberg himself on his official channel.
To use it, you have to go to the search options, click on the three little dots at the top right of the screen, and then select “Search.” As usual, a search bar appears, where you can enter your keywords, as well as two arrows, allowing you to scroll through messages. Now a small calendar icon also appears next to it. When you click on it, a full-size calendar opens, and all you have to do is select the date of sending the message that interests you. Like the Google Calendar app, you can scroll through the months or select a specific year if your search is old.
This new feature is very practical as it not only saves time but also reduces the frustration of scrolling through long conversation histories. Additionally, it's especially useful when it comes to finding non-text messages, such as voice notes — which can be difficult to find since they're not converted to text — or photos, or when you can't remember the exact wording of a text message.
This function has already been available to iPhone users since January 2023. However, until now it has not been available in WhatsApp Web or on Android devices. However, it has been in development in web messaging betas since last November already, and was spotted a month later in Android betas. From now on, all media will benefit from it. It was time!
